My work centers on expressing what is hidden at the core of things. This essence sometimes appears as the quiet beauty of nature, and at other times as the deeply rooted emotions and thoughts within a person. In my practice, I break existing ceramic forms and organically rebuild them by stacking clay into the cracks, allowing what is concealed to emerge through the fractures.
The act of breaking the vessel parallels the irregular forces found in nature, infusing the work with a sense of life and transformation. By using clay to fill and grow within these ruptures, I give form to unconscious emotions and to the subtle changes that accumulate over time. This organic reconstruction reflects the ongoing journey of my own life and becomes a way of exploring the depths of existence.
Through my work, I emphasize the interconnectedness between our inner essence and the natural world, expressing reverence for its mysteries and its quiet, expansive beauty. The shattered vessel embodies the instability and impermanence inherent in life, inviting viewers to freely feel, imagine, and interpret. Ultimately, the work is not only about breaking form—it is an invitation to discover new meanings and unexpected beauty within the fractured spaces.
