작가 소개

NURO, led by artist Jaesun Joh, explores the tension between fragility and sharpness, permanence and transformation. The brand reimagines ceramics not as gentle, decorative objects, but as sculptural forms that confront the emotional landscapes of human experience.

Irregular metallic textures juxtaposed with raw, unglazed ceramic surfaces create a powerful visual and tactile contrast—an encounter between two opposing material worlds. In Joh’s works, the softness of form reflects the vulnerability of human existence, while the embedded sharpness symbolizes pain, fear, and the intensity of inner conflict. Through these dualities, NURO exposes the imperfect, unresolved states that define life.

Another facet of the brand’s practice lies in transforming natural materials by infusing them with metallic powder. This alchemical process yields entirely new substances, granting organic forms a sense of eternal vitality—neither fully natural nor wholly artificial, but somewhere in between.

NURO’s objects exist at the boundary of sculpture and emotion: distilled, confrontational, and quietly powerful. They are not simply ceramics but meditations on endurance, transformation, and the unseen forces that shape us.

As the piece is unglazed, it is recommended for use as an objet rather than as functional tableware.
